The Wolf Fund is our annual giving campaign for the Burr PTO and runs from October to January. The money raised provides the majority of funding for PTO activities through the year.  Our goal is to raise $25,000 through the Wolf Fund with at least half of Burr families giving a gift of any amount.

Spotlight: Community Events

You may have recently trunk-or-treated at our annual BooFest, or be planning to attend next weekend's Diwali and Dia de los Muertos Celebrations. These events help us strengthen our community ties—allowing us to spend time getting to know one another, and sharing our cultures.

These events, and others like them, are supported by the funds raised through the Wolf Fund campaign. We want to create more opportunities to bring our community together and create wonderful lasting memories this spring at events like May Fair and the World Cultures Event.

Your Gift in Any Amount Helps Our School Community

Giving is easy. Choose any of these ways to give to the Wolf Fund:
  • Give online. Click here to use your credit card, Paypal, or Venmo.
  • Text BURRPTO to 53-555 to donate.
  • Send a check made out to Burr PTO to school in your child's folder.
  • Mail a check made out to Burr PTO to Burr PTO / 171 Pine St. / Auburndale, MA 02466.

BooFest—One Week Away!

IT'S GOING TO BE A SPOOKTACULAR EVENT,
BUT ONLY WITH YOUR HELP!!!!!

Please sign up to host a Trunk, bake some treats for the bake sale, volunteer, and RSVP. Donations are kindly welcomed as the proceeds go to the cost of the event such as DJ, games and crafts.

BooFest is one of the most beloved community events at Burr and without the help of volunteers we can't make the event happen. Please email sonia@burrpto.org with any questions.

Volunteer Gardeners Wanted!

Come join fellow Burr families as we winterize the school's garden! Help harvest the last of the veggies! Do you have expertise in pruning? Great! Are you a novice who excels at picking up sticks? Also great! We need all hands on deck (or in the dirt) so that we can prepare the gardens for the **Spring Planting**. (Look for information on this in the new year. In short, the PTO provides support for Burr parent volunteers to bring each class into the garden to plant items based on grade-level curriculum.)

Where: Meet at the Burr Garden
When: Sunday, October 23rd, 10:00-12:30
Who: Anyone from the Burr Community, past/present/future. Children are welcome.

What to bring:
A willing attitude! Also, while Burr owns some gardening tools, feel free to bring gardening gloves, pruning shears, wheelbarrows, shovels, or other useful items (like snacks!!)

Walk-Roll-Ride to School Day

Will you walk, roll, bike or bus this year?
Choose what works for your family to celebrate International Walk to School Day this year.

Held annually, this event joins together students from over 40 countries. Visit www.NewtonSafeRoutes.org for more information about walking, rolling, and riding. This day is being coordinated by our Safe Routes to School team. We'll have bookmarks and stickers to pass out - so we could use some parent volunteers for both the front and back of Burr!

Want to help welcome all the students to Burr as they walk - roll - and ride to school on October 12th? Contact Laura Sandler at laura.sandler@gmail.com.

Please Sign Up to Volunteer

The year is off to a great start and we are so thrilled to see everyone again. We have a vibrant and active calendar of events planned this year, and to make that happen, we need your help. We appreciate as little or as much help as you are able to give. Please take a look at our current volunteer needs at https://bit.ly/BurrVolunteers and see how you might be able to help make this year a great one for our community. Some of our upcoming needs include:
  • Creative Arts & Sciences—Kindergarten and 2nd grade coordinators, overall co-chair
  • Fundraising Chair or Committee
  • Co-President (email amie@burrpto.org)
  • Library class help (sign ups will come from your room parents soon)
If you are interested in volunteering in the school this year, or chaperoning field trips, don't forget to ensure you have a current CORI/SORI form filled out.
  • Forms can be found here, or at the front office.
  • Bring your photo ID and forms to the front office, and Ms. Studley can assist you.
  • Note: at drop-off and dismissal there is a lot going on at the front office, so if you are able to come a little outside of those times, that is helpful
  • Even if you have filled out in previous years, they are valid for 3 years so be sure yours is current

No previous PTO experience is needed! We look forward to working with you and getting to know you better!

Curriculum Night October 6 @ Burr

Come and join us for Curriculum Night, and get to know a little more about our kids day at Burr.

This is a great opportunity to hear directly from your children's teachers about what your children will be learning this year, as well as to meet/socialize with other parents in your children's classrooms. It's one night you don't want to miss!

Remember this is a parents-only event!
