The Burr Book Swap is Coming!—Wednesday, February 15

How does it work?
Check your bookshelves at home for books you've read and are ready to pass along to someone else at Burr School to enjoy. Bring the books to school (in a bag marked "Book Swap") between Tuesday February 7 and Tuesday February 14. On Wednesday, February 15 all classrooms will visit the Book Swap and every student will be able to pick out at least two books to take home to keep and read.

What kind of books would be good for the Burr Book Swap?
  • picture books
  • series books - Dog Man, Elephant and Piggie, Magic Tree House, Baby Mouse
  • graphic novels
  • cool non-fiction books
  • chapter books
  • and MORE!
Please do not bring in books that are in poor condition, preschool books, activity/workbooks, or books that are better for older children or adults.

The best part?
The Book Swap is FREE and EVERYONE will be able to pick out books to take home and read.

Volunteer to help sort books the evening of February 14; or come February 15 and help kids select their books with their classes. Sign up here to help.

Thanks for an Amazing LNY Movie Night!

Thank you Burr families and students for another Lunar New Year celebration! It was so nice seeing so many Burr families attend the PTO Movie Night/Lunar Year celebration.

Angie, Kayla, Sonia, Lisa Kong and Burr Alumni Ethan Shen had so much fun making popcorn for all the families.  So glad that we were able to catch up with the line and raise some money too, so thank you! Plus those popcorn toppings were a nice touch too and your lucky money envelope! We could see that  everyone enjoyed themselves by watching Peter Rabbit 2. It was so nice hearing all the children laugh and make lanterns and eat pizza together!

Thank you to all the Burr families, custodian and students who helped with picking up the mats and cleaned up after. This really made the night end so much easier!

We also want to thank Pizza Market for always giving us great service and on time delivery. They make pizza so easy and convenient for these events. Most importantly thank you to Lisa Kong for all your help throughout the event and Kyle Crossley who also helped Lisa pass out the pizzas last minute. Volunteers is what makes these events happen!

Thank you again,
Sonia Yung, Angie Kim and Kayla Noblecilla
