Educational Presentation

Wingmasters- Birds of Prey

WINGMASTERS is a partnership of two people dedicated to increasing public understanding and appreciation of North American birds of prey. Julie Anne Collier and Jim Parks are both licensed raptor rehabilitators based in Massachusetts. Together they care for injured birds of prey. Most of the birds they rehabilitate can ultimately be released back into the wild, but in some cases the birds are left permanently handicapped. Julie and Jim are further licensed to provide a home for these nonreleasable raptors, and to use them for educational programs. Since 1994 WINGMASTERS has presented over 5000 programs at schools, libraries and museums throughout New England.

Date: Wednesday, May 22, 9:00AM - 10:00 AM for all First Grade
Location: Cafetorium

Join us! Parents are encouraged to attend, but no younger siblings, please.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Creative Arts and Science programs are fully funded by your generous
contributions to the Burr PTO  and the Burr Wolf Fund.

Burr Walking and Running Group Is Back for Spring! Monday 5/20!

The Burr Parents Walking and Running Group—every (non-holiday) Monday. This Spring we'll meet every Monday at 8:15am in front of the school near the blue bins. From there, we’ll head out for a walk/jog/run with a goal of getting back to the school by 9am.

What if I’m not a runner?
No worries! We’ll have folks who move at all different paces, and we’ll share different route options depending on our pace. We’ll start with three routes - one for those who like to walk, one for those who run/jog at a casual pace, and one for those who like to run at a faster pace.

Questions?
If you have questions, reach out to Becky Silva at beckynyce@gmail.com or talk with one of the organizers - Becky (parent of 2nd grader Maya), Dave Lievens (parent of 2nd grader Thomas and 4th grader William), or Benny Lee (parent of 1st grader Lucy and 4th grader Asa). Reach out to us if you're worried about the weather also!
