Our next PTO Community Meeting will feature a visit from Superintendent Fleishman and School Committee members, Tamika Olszewski, Anping Shen, and Bridget Ray-Canada. It will be an informational time for them to share recent updates and to address questions that are on the minds of the Burr community.

Please join us on Tuesday, March 2, at 7:30 pm, for a presentation and discussion about student and family basic rights under special education laws and regulations. 

Whether you're new to the world of special education or a seasoned (scarred?) special education parent, there are always new and helpful insights from each Basic Rights presentation!

We're excited to have Leslie Lockhart as our presenter. Leslie is the Mass Advocates for Children’s Helpline Coordinator. She was also a founding member and driving force of the original Newton SEPAC.

5th Grade Yearbook



The 5th Grade Room Parents will be reaching out to gather pictures from years past for the yearbook.  Pictures should be of students and generally taken at school or school related activities such as Field Trips, May Fair, Boofest, Diwali etc.  Please reach out or send pictures to Al Olszewski amost12@yahoo.com with any questions.

Book Fair is coming!



Hello Burr families & friends!

Burr School is taking the annual book fair virtual this year!  Mark your calendar for March 8th through March 14th!  Feel free to begin to peruse the inventory at Porter Square Books, but don’t buy any books until that week, as we will have a special code for you to use that will send 10% of the proceeds back to Burr :)

Note: You can buy books for you, your friends, families, etc… but you can ALSO buy books that are on teachers’ Wish Lists, which we’ll share when the book fair week begins.  So, get ready to show your teachers & the library some love!

The online auction is coming up in April and is one of our biggest annual fundraisers. Do you have a great idea for an auction item?
