Do you know that Newton Public Schools is considering options to change school start times? Ms Johal and the PTO are hosting at Parent Principal Coffee on November 17 at 8:30 am so Burr parents can learn more. Ellen Gibson, Newton School Committee member and member of the working group charged with the task of researching the issue of later start times for high school students, will present the findings of the working group and the potential scenarios changing school start times. (Academic research indicates adolescents require more sleep and their "best sleep" occurs between 11 pm and 9 am.) Many of the scenarios would mean changes for the elementary schools. Please attend this event if you can.
