THE BURR PTO PRESENTS
Honeybees and the Art of Keeping Bees (First Grade)—April 6
How important are bees for our environment? Together with local beekeeper Birgit deWeerd, we will learn about the family-like social interactions of honeybees, their lifecycle and work roles, pollen and nectar collection, honey production, and how to differentiate honey bees and wasps.
We’ll look at photographic enlargements of different types of bees at work for the hive, protective clothing for beekeepers, the parts of a beehive, and a jar of bees.
But don’t worry about bee stings! The bees will stay in their jar!
Friday April 6, 2018 in the Library
Golden: 8:50am - 9:50am
Fitch: 9:50am - 10:50am
Espinal: 10:50am - 11:50am
