THE BURR PTO PRESENTS
2019 STEAM Fair—March 1
+Save the date: The 2019 Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM) Fair will be Friday, March 1, 6-8pm at Burr.
Why STEAM instead of STEM? This year we’re adding Art to the mix, to encourage everyone to participate and to encourage creative thinking about how we view science and technology.
STEAM.edu defines STEAM education as science and technology, interpreted through engineering and the arts, all based in mathematical elements. The “A” in STEAM is meant to be a broad term, representing not only the fine arts, but also liberal arts, language arts, social studies, music and physical arts.
+In addition, the Burr parent night at Empower Studios Newton (https://empow.me/) will be Wednesday, February 27, 7-9pm.
Learn Scratch computer programming and create a project that you can share at home with the kids! Parents only for this one so we can learn the language our kids are speaking, with drinks at Anthony’s after.
Details on both events coming after the holidays, but please save the dates!
