Come learn about the new Newton Public School Equity Policy—Feb 13
Please mark Wednesday, February 13th from 7-9pm in your calendars, when the Burr PTO will host a discussion in the Burr Cafetorium about the Newton Public School Equity Policy changes and new limits for the upcoming 2019-20 school year.
For those of you unfamiliar with the Equity Policy, the policy aims to level the playing field among Newton Public Schools with regard to curriculum-related PTO expenses, which include Creative Arts & Sciences, technology, library books and more. In an effort to minimize the gap in the levels of funding at Newton elementary schools, new limits will go into effect in September 2019. Members of the NPS Equity Committee and School Committee will be on hand to present the details and answer questions about the new policy.
