Resources and tips for a safe commute:
- Burr maps and driving/parking rules www.burrpto.org/safe-routes-to-school.
- Walking map (PDF file- see below): www.newton.k12.ma.us/Page/3516
- Park and walk – Parking is allowed on one side of Pine Street and Washburn St. a 2 blocks from school. Look for “no parking” signs in front of and behind you! “No parking” means no parking/waiting at all. "Live parking" means the driver must stay in the car. The Blue Zone and "no parking" map.
- Explain the rules to whoever is accompanying your child. We know the rules are a bit complicated, so thanks for your attention to keeping us all safe!
NOTE: We'd love to have 4 volunteers to offer each student a Safe Routes bookmark/sticker (at school approximately 7:45am–8:20am).
