CAS Event - World of Water

Evaporation and the Power of Steam

How did historic engineers use our water cycle, specifically evaporation and condensation, to power machines?  The water cycle and the 3 states of matter coincide in many different ways.  Evaporated steam is a gas so powerful that it was the sole source of power for locomotives, pumping engines, and ships.

Burr PTO Annual Wolf Fund Campaign

- Donate Today!

The Burr School PTO’s annual campaign - The Wolf Fund - is starting and we need your help!

This annual fundraising campaign provides the majority of the funding for PTO activities -
cultural and community events (BooFest, May Fair, World Cultures Fair, etc.) and Creative Arts
and science programs in the classrooms.

Last year, the Burr School PTO spent $129 per student at Burr and ensured that all students
could participate in PTO and school-sponsored events.

Our Goals This Year:

Raise $22,000 through the Wolf Fund
with 50% of Burr School families giving any amount

Here’s how you can help:

Give: There is no such thing as a small donation—every dollar counts towards our goals and
truly makes a difference. And your donation is tax-deductible!

● Give $100 and receive a Burr School Magnet
● Give $150 and receive a Burr School Magnet + Burr T-Shirt for your kids enrolled at Burr

Ask Your Employer to Match: Ask “Does our company provide matching
charitable contributions?” to get some free money for Burr!

Talk it Up!: Spread the word among Burr families about why you give to the Wolf Fund.
Thank you for helping to build a community at Burr where all our children and families can
learn, grow and play!

Math Curriculum Presentation for Parents

—Monday, February 10, 2025

One of the goals of the Burr School Improvement Plan this year is to strengthen home/school partnerships by providing opportunities to develop an understanding of school programs and curriculum. Earlier this year, we shared information about the new EL literacy curriculum, and now we look forward to sharing the work teachers and students are doing in math.

Join Ms. Feroleto to deepen your understanding of math instruction at Burr. She will provide an overview of a typical math block, explain how ST Math is incorporated into the curriculum, and discuss strategies for differentiation to meet diverse student needs. Additionally, she will go over the new STAR Math assessment, including how it is administered and how to interpret the results. To further support your child(ren)’s math learning, Ms. Feroleto will also share valuable resources you can use at home.

Date: Monday, February 10, 2025
Place: Burr Cafeteria
Time: 8:20 AM

For those unable to attend in-person, here is a link to listen virtually.
