CAS events - Techsploration

Sound Science Workshop

“What is Sound? How do we hear? What is pitch? In this workshop we use lots of fun activities to show the science behind sound. Students make their own model ear drums, experiment with how sound travels, and build lots of devices that generate sound in different ways. This workshop definitely turns up the volume on science.”

Evaporation and the Power of Steam

Math Curriculum Presentation for Parents

—Monday, February 10, 2025

One of the goals of the Burr School Improvement Plan this year is to strengthen home/school partnerships by providing opportunities to develop an understanding of school programs and curriculum. Earlier this year, we shared information about the new EL literacy curriculum, and now we look forward to sharing the work teachers and students are doing in math.

Join Ms. Feroleto to deepen your understanding of math instruction at Burr. She will provide an overview of a typical math block, explain how ST Math is incorporated into the curriculum, and discuss strategies for differentiation to meet diverse student needs. Additionally, she will go over the new STAR Math assessment, including how it is administered and how to interpret the results. To further support your child(ren)’s math learning, Ms. Feroleto will also share valuable resources you can use at home.

Date: Monday, February 10, 2025
Place: Burr Cafeteria
Time: 8:20 AM

For those unable to attend in-person, here is a link to listen virtually.
