CREATIVE ARTS & SCIENCES AND THE BURR PTO PRESENT 


Illustrator Emilie Boon—May 12, 2017



The Creative Arts and Sciences Committee, which is fully funded by the Burr PTO, welcomes Children’s Illustrator Emilie Boon to the Kindergarten classrooms on Friday, May 12th starting at 8:45am.


Emilie Boon is best known for her beguiling depictions of animal characters. After reading one of her books, she will share her artwork and explain the step-by-step process of creating a book. She will talk about inspiration, using imagination and how making mistakes and rewriting are important parts of the creative process.image

After Emilie’s presentation, it’s the students’ turn to create a book! Using Emilie’s crayon and watercolor technique, students will create their own unique books.

Emilie Boon has published over 20 books for young children, including Peterkin’s Very Own Garden and Belinda’s Balloon.
